Navigation and the footer help visitors move through your site and find important information. Both are edited directly in the Website Editor and can be customized without affecting your page content.
Editing the navigation bar
The navigation bar appears at the top of your site on every page.
To edit it, hover over the navigation bar and click Edit Navigation Bar.
Path: Navigation Bar > Edit Navigation Bar
This opens a modal with options to control both content and design. The modal can be dragged anywhere across the bottom of the screen while you edit.
Navigation content settings
Under the Content tab, you can control what appears in the navigation bar.
Logo
You can display a text logo or an image logo. If a logo is already set, you can replace it by selecting or generating a new image, or uploading your own.
Navigation links
Navigation links control where visitors can go. You can:
Reorder links
Edit link labels
Change link types
Add or remove links
Links can point to:
Pages on your site
External websites
Email addresses
Phone numbers
Specific sections on a page
Navigation updates happen in real time. As you drag or reorder links, the navigation bar updates immediately so you can see the result as you work.
Using dropdowns in navigation
You can group related pages under a dropdown in the navigation bar.
To add a dropdown, click Add dropdown in the navigation editor and give it a label.
You can then add one or more pages inside the dropdown.
Each dropdown shows a number next to its label, indicating how many pages it contains. You can reorder pages within a dropdown, and reorder the dropdown itself alongside other navigation items.
Dropdowns are useful for grouping related services, offerings, or content without overcrowding the navigation bar.
Button links
You can enable buttons in the navigation bar for important actions. Buttons use the same link types as navigation links and can be reordered and edited individually.
Social links
You can choose whether to display social links and edit each one. Up to four social links are supported. Durable automatically handles icons and styling based on the platform you select.
Sticky header
The navigation bar can be set as a sticky header.
When sticky header is enabled, the navigation bar stays visible at the top of the page as visitors scroll.
When it is disabled, the navigation bar scrolls away with the page content.
You can toggle sticky header on or off from the navigation editing options and preview the behavior immediately.
Sticky headers are useful when you want visitors to always have access to navigation or call-to-action buttons.
Navigation design settings
Switch to the Design tab to change how the navigation bar looks.
Navigation design presets control layout details such as alignment, spacing, and structure. This includes options like full-width layouts and different menu alignments. Selecting a design updates the navigation bar immediately so you can preview the result.
Editing the footer
The footer, also called the bottom bar, appears at the bottom of every page.
To edit it, hover over the footer and click Edit.
Path: Footer > Edit
Footer settings let you control:
Logo display
Navigation links such as privacy policy or terms
Copyright information
Address and contact details
Social links
Like the navigation bar, the footer includes design presets you can scroll through and apply.
