What to expect when you get a .ca domain

When you get a .ca domain through Durable, CIRA may email you as registration completes. Here is what to expect.

Written by Mark

When you get a .ca domain through Durable, registration is completed with CIRA, the official authority for Canadian domains. Durable still handles registration and setup. You may just see a couple of emails along the way.

What Durable sends you

We will send a confirmation email when your domain is being set up. That message explains that registration runs through CIRA, and that you might hear from them next.

Look for a subject like Your domain [your domain] is being set up, from [email protected].

What CIRA may send you

You may receive an email from CIRA as registration progresses. Some registry messages ask you to confirm your contact details. That is a normal part of the process and usually only takes a minute.

A CIRA email is part of official .ca registration, not a Durable support thread. If anything feels unclear, or you want help with what they asked for, contact us at [email protected].
