The Top Directories section is where you will spend most of your time building your GEO presence. This is the part of Discoverability that shows all the major places your business can appear online, such as Google Business Profile, Yelp, Facebook, Bing Places, TripAdvisor, and other trusted directories. These platforms play a major role in helping customers find you, and they also feed important signals to AI tools and search engines.

Add directories from a curated list

In addition to tracking existing listings, you can actively add new directories to strengthen your GEO presence.

From the Discoverability section, you can add your business to a curated list of high impact directories.

These directories are selected based on their relevance and the strength of their discoverability signals.

Using this list helps you focus on directories that:

  • Improve how search engines and AI tools understand your business

  • Increase confidence when your business is recommended to customers

  • Have a measurable impact on your Visibility Score

Durable also researches new high impact directories over time and emails recommendations, so you always know where listing your business will have the greatest effect.

For each directory, you will see whether your business is listed, not listed, or listed with issues. These indicators help you understand your current footprint and show you exactly where you can make improvements that increase your Visibility Score.

Listed means we found your profile on that directory. Not listed means your business is missing from that platform and you should connect it. Issues means we found your profile but detected mismatched or missing details. Fixing these problems helps your visibility grow faster.

Clicking any directory in the list opens a detailed panel on the right side of the page. This panel shows your business information on that platform, including the name, address, phone number, website, star rating, and review count. If something does not match your main business information, you will see a warning. You can refresh the panel after making updates, or click through to the profile to correct the details directly on that directory.

You can connect a directory in several ways. If you already have a profile, enter the URL and select Add Listing. We will pull in the data and start tracking it. If you do not have a profile yet, use the Open button to go to that platform and create one. Once the profile exists, you can return and connect it.

If a directory does not apply to your business, select the option that says this directory is not relevant. For example, if you are not a restaurant, you can remove platforms like OpenTable. This helps keep your list clean and ensures your Visibility Score reflects what actually matters.

As you add more listings, fix inconsistencies, and complete missing steps, you will see your Visibility Score increase. Directory accuracy is a major part of GEO discoverability and affects how confident search engines and AI tools are when recommending your business.

In the next article, we will explore the AI Visibility Rankings section and explain how AI platforms understand and surface your business.
