Google Analytics helps you understand activity on your website so you can make more informed decisions about its content. To collect that activity, connect the Google tag for your Analytics property through Durable's integration settings. This guide covers installing it once and checking that Analytics receives data.
Get your tag
Create or open the intended Google Analytics property and its web data stream. Follow Google's installation instructions to get the website's Google tag. Copy the complete supplied code when using manual installation, and keep Google's installation instructions open so you can return to check the installation after saving the tag in Durable.
Add it in Durable
Open site settings using the gear in the upper-right corner of the editor, then choose Integrations → Google Analytics. Follow the setup instructions shown there and use the identifier or code format requested by that control. For manual installation, use Custom code → Add custom script, give the entry a clear name, choose Head, paste the supplied tag, and save.
Use one installation method for the same tag to avoid duplicate tracking. For naming, Head/Body placement, and disabling a manually installed tag, follow Add and manage site-wide custom code. A measurement ID and a complete script are different inputs; put the format requested by the selected field in that field.
Verify collection
Open the website and use Google's installation test or realtime reporting to check the setup. Allow for processing and review whether consent settings or browser blockers affect the test. If the newly saved tag is not detected, allow a few minutes before checking again. Detecting the tag and populating Analytics reports are separate steps, so reports may take longer to appear.
Dru cannot install tracking scripts for you. Use the manual integration settings. For property setup and data-stream instructions, see Google Analytics setup.
