Understand the step-by-step process customers follow to book and pay for services directly on your website.

Written by Mark

Customers can easily book and pay for your services directly through your Durable website. This guide outlines the step-by-step journey they experience, from selecting a service to receiving their booking confirmation.

Selecting a Service and Time

  1. The customer begins by clicking the Book now button on your website.

  2. A modal window appears, prompting them to Pick a service. They will see a list of services you offer, such as "Standard consultation (1 hr)" or "Premium package."

  3. After selecting a service, a new modal appears to Pick a time. The customer can navigate through available dates and select a specific time slot that works for them.

Providing Contact Details

  1. Once a time slot is chosen, the customer is presented with a Share details form.

  2. They will be asked to enter their contact information, typically including their name, email address, and phone number.

  3. If you have configured custom intake fields for your booking form, these will also appear here for the customer to fill out (e.g., "Preferred contact method" or "Reason for booking").

Reviewing Cancellation Policy and Payment

  1. After submitting their contact details, the customer proceeds to the Pay modal.

  2. This modal provides a clear summary of their selected service, date, and time.

  3. Crucially, your cancellation policy and any non-refundable fees are prominently displayed here, ensuring the customer is fully informed before proceeding. For example, it might state: "Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance may incur a 50% fee."

Completing Payment (Prepayment/Google Pay)

If your booking settings require full prepayment, the customer will be prompted to complete their payment at this stage:

  1. The customer can enter their credit or debit card details, including the card number, expiration date, and CVC.

  2. Alternatively, for a quicker checkout experience, they may have the option to use Google Pay.

  3. Upon successful payment, the booking is immediately confirmed.

Confirming Booking (Pay After Appointment/Invoicing)

The final steps for confirming a booking vary depending on your chosen payment settings:

If you selected "Pay after appointment"

The customer will enter their card details, but the system will indicate that the card will be securely saved and charged only after the service has been rendered. No immediate charge occurs, and the booking is confirmed with the card on file.

If you selected "Invoicing"

No payment details are collected at the time of booking. The system will inform the customer that an invoice will be sent to them after the service is complete. The booking is confirmed without any immediate payment.

The "You're all set!" Confirmation Screen

Regardless of your payment settings, all customers will arrive at a "You're all set!" confirmation screen. This screen typically includes:

  • A clear confirmation message, such as "You're all set! Your booking is confirmed."

  • A summary of the booked service, date, and time.

  • An option to add the appointment to their personal calendar.

  • Confirmation that an email with all booking details has been sent to their provided address.

This streamlined process ensures a smooth and transparent booking experience for your customers, from initial selection to final confirmation.
