Preview, save, publish, and manage visibility

Preview your website on desktop and mobile, share it before publishing, and control when it becomes public or private.

Before sharing your website with customers, take a moment to see it as they will. Preview lets you check your pages and gather feedback, while publishing makes your site live. This guide explains how saving, previewing, publishing, and visibility work together so you can choose when your website is ready to share.

Saving happens as you work

Your changes save automatically. When using Dru Chat, wait for it to finish and the editor to show ‘Saved.’ Publishing is a separate step that makes your updates visible on your live website.

Saving, previewing, and publishing serve different purposes: saving keeps your changes, previewing lets you review the site, and publishing makes the website live.

Preview your website

  1. Select Preview in the upper-right toolbar.

  2. Use the desktop and phone icons centered in the preview toolbar to check both views.

  3. Follow navigation links and inspect text, images, buttons, and section spacing.

  4. Choose Back to editing to return.

To share the website before publishing, open Publish in the upper-right toolbar and choose Copy link. Open the copied address to check what another visitor will see, then share it for feedback. In the same Publish panel, choose Mobile preview to show a QR code you can scan on your phone. This QR action is separate from the desktop and phone view icons in Preview.

A preview-mode site displays Preview mode · this website isn't live yet and is hidden from search engines until you publish. Anyone you share the link with can still view it. Use Private visibility when you do not want a shareable preview.

Ask Dru to publish or unpublish

Ask Dru to publish or unpublish the site. Dru asks for your approval before making either change. Review the intended action and website, and approve only when you are ready.

After publishing, check the public address. After unpublishing, check the visibility state and what a visitor can access. Publishing is not an edit that Dru can reverse with Undo; request the appropriate visibility change instead.

Publish your website

  1. Open Publish.

  2. Review the website address and current visibility state shown in the panel.

  3. For an unpublished site, choose Publish my website when you are ready. If prompted, review the available plans and complete the required plan-selection or checkout steps. The flow depends on your account. On a previously published site, use the publishing action shown for your changes.

  4. Open or refresh the website at its public address and check the result.

Check forms, shopping and booking links as well as appearance. Saving an item in Sell or changing an integration can have its own effect; those features do not all follow page publishing rules.

Manage visibility

Open site settings using the gear in the upper-right corner of the editor, then select General. The available visibility states include Published, Preview mode, and Private. Preview mode allows sharing by link while hiding the site from search; Private is shown as only you being able to see the website. Review the description before changing the state. If a plan prompt appears, review the options shown in your account.

Publishing does not guarantee immediate inclusion in search results. Search engines control their own crawling and indexing. Follow Verify your website in Google Search Console to submit your sitemap and inspect whether Google has indexed a page.
