Add video to a banner

Use motion behind or alongside your banner content.

A short video can bring your banner to life and give visitors a feel for your business as soon as they arrive. Use it behind or alongside your heading while keeping the message and main button easy to read. The steps below cover choosing a video, adjusting its treatment, and checking the result.

Choose the banner

For a new banner, describe the video treatment to Dru and review the resulting design. For an existing banner's layout, select it and tell Dru how you want the video and text arranged.

To choose the video source by hand, open the page, select the banner, and choose Edit manually beside the input in the Dru panel on the right. Open the media field provided by that design. If it offers a video control, use Add video to choose a library video or enter a supported public video URL.

A link to a private file or a page containing a video is not necessarily a playable video source. Use a direct, publicly accessible video link and optimize the video for fast loading.

Check the background

Choose a short, relevant clip that leaves the heading and button easy to read. Adjust the layout or contrast with Dru if the text gets lost. Avoid relying on audio to explain the business: background video may play without sound, and browser playback behavior varies. For a walkthrough visitors choose to watch in a player, use Add a video section.

Replace or remove the video

Return to the banner's manual media control to replace or remove its video where those actions are offered. If the layout does not expose the video control you need, ask Dru to change the banner's media treatment.

Preview

Check desktop and mobile, loading behavior, and the main call to action. Use a video you have permission to show, and publish when ready. Check the licence for any stock footage you choose to confirm it permits your intended use, including commercial use where applicable. Do not download and re-upload another platform's videos unless the usage rights allow it.
