With your calendar and availability set, it's time to define the services your customers can book! This article will guide you through both the initial setup of your services and how to manage them on an ongoing basis, detailing what you offer, how long it takes, and any specific information you need from your clients.
Initial Setup: Adding Your First Service
When you first set up your bookings feature, after defining your weekly schedule, you'll arrive at the 'Booking services' page. If you haven't added any services yet, this page will be empty.
Click the + Add service button.
This will open the 'New service' form, where you can begin customizing your offering.
Accessing and Managing Your Booking Services
Once your initial services are set up, you can easily add new services or modify existing ones at any time from your dashboard.
From your Durable dashboard, click Bookings in the left-hand navigation menu.
In the top right corner of the booking calendar, click Services.
A 'Booking services' modal will appear, listing all your current services. From here, you can either add a new service or edit an existing one.

To modify the details of a service you've already created:
In the 'Booking services' modal, click on the name of the service you wish to edit (e.g., "Your service name").
The 'Edit service' form will open, pre-filled with the current details of that service. You can update any of the following:
Name, Price, Description: Adjust the service title, cost, or explanation. For example, you might change "Standard consultation (1 hr)" to "Premium consultation (1.5 hr)" and update the price.
Location Options: Modify how you'll meet customers for this service. Refer to "Setting Service Location Options" section for details.
Time Options: Change the Duration, Slot increment, or Buffer time. Refer to "Customizing Time Options" section for details.

Configuring Service Details (Name, Price, Description)
Start by giving your service a clear name, setting its price, and providing a helpful description for your customers.
In the Name field, enter a descriptive title for your service. This name will be visible to customers.
In the Price field, enter the cost of your service.
In the Description field, provide a brief explanation of what the service entails.
Setting Service Location Options
Choose how you'll connect with your customers for this specific service. You can offer in-person meetings, phone calls, or virtual meetings.
Click Set location next to 'Location type'.
You'll see three options:
Address: For in-person meetings. You can either Provide a specific address or choose Ask customer to have them enter their address during booking.
Phone number: For phone consultations. You can Provide your phone number or Ask customer for theirs.
Google Meet: For virtual meetings. If your Google Calendar isn't connected, you'll see a prompt to Connect Google Calendar to automatically generate Google Meet links.
Select the appropriate location type and details for your service. For example, if you select Address and Ask customer, your customers will be prompted to enter their address when they book.
Click Save to confirm your location settings.
Customizing Time Options (Duration, Slot Increment, Buffer Time)
Fine-tune the timing of your service to match your business needs and ensure smooth scheduling.
Duration: This defines how long the service takes. Click on the current duration (e.g., 1h) to choose from preset options like 30m, 1.5h, 2h, or select Custom to enter specific hours and minutes. For example, you might set a consultation to 3 hours.
Slot increment: This determines how often new booking slots begin. Click on the current increment (e.g., 30m) to choose from 15m, 1h, or Custom.
Buffer time: This adds a break between consecutive bookings, giving you time to prepare or travel. Click on the current buffer time (e.g., 15m) to select None, 5m, 30m, or Custom for a specific duration.
Adding Custom Questions for Your Services
Gather essential information from your customers upfront by adding custom questions to your booking form. This helps you prepare for their appointment and provide the best service.
Scroll down to the 'Default questions' section. These include First name, Last name, and Email address, which are always required.
You can make Phone number and Address required by toggling the switch next to them.
To add your own custom questions, click + Add question.
Enter your question in the 'Question 1' field (e.g., "What is your preferred contact method?" or "Please describe your project needs.").
Choose the Answer Type from the dropdown:
One line: For short text answers.
Multiple lines: For longer text answers.
Radio buttons: For single-choice options (e.g., "Email", "Phone"). Click + Add option to add more choices.
Checkboxes: For multiple-choice options.
Dropdown: For a list of options where the customer selects one.
Toggle the Required switch if the customer must answer this question to complete their booking.
You can add multiple custom questions as needed. To remove a question, click the trash can icon next to it.
Once all your service details and questions are configured, click Save.
You have successfully set up or updated your booking services! Your customers can now view and book these services through your website.
