Understand pages and sections

Choose between adding a page and adding a section to organize your website.

A clear website structure helps visitors find what they need, whether they are learning about your business or ready to get in touch. Pages give a topic its own destination, while sections bring related content together within a page. Use this guide to decide which to add and understand how each change affects your site.

Pages have their own addresses

A page is a destination on your site, such as Home, About, Services, or Contact. Each ordinary page has its own URL. Create a page when the content needs a separate address or enough space to stand on its own.

A section is a block within a page, such as a banner, gallery, FAQ, or contact form. Add a section when the content belongs in the same journey as the material already on the page.

For example, a short introduction can be a section on Home. A detailed company story can have its own About page, linked from the navigation.

Understand the scope of a change

  • Editing one heading changes that content.

  • Editing a section can affect its layout, text, images, and buttons.

  • Site-wide design changes can affect multiple pages.

  • Navigation and footer areas help visitors move around the site and should be checked across pages after editing.

Page settings control the page title, navigation label, URL slug, SEO details, and Open Graph sharing image. Section edits control content within the page, such as text, images, buttons, layout, and individual form fields or list items. Select the intended item before asking Dru to make a change. Name the page and scope when your request affects more than the selected item.

Navigation is not privacy

A page does not have to appear in the main navigation to exist. Removing a navigation link does not make its destination private. To control who can access your site, follow Preview, save, publish, and manage visibility. To change an individual page's search title, description, sharing image, or address, follow Manage page SEO, slugs, and redirects.

Choose a starting structure

A simple service website might use Home, Services, About, and Contact. Use an FAQ section for a few answers or a dedicated FAQ page for a longer collection. Add policy pages using your own reviewed wording. Durable support cannot provide legal advice; have a qualified local adviser review your terms and privacy policy for your business and region. Ask Dru to build a page around the content you provide, or start with a blank page.
