Optimize how your pages appear in search results and social media shares by customizing SEO titles, meta descriptions, and Open Graph images. These settings help search engines understand your content and can improve your website's visibility.
Ask Dru to update SEO or a page address
Ask Dru to write or update SEO titles, descriptions, and the sharing image. Name the page and provide the business facts or image you want it to use. For example: “Update the Services page's SEO title and description to describe our residential landscaping services.” Review the resulting wording and image in page settings before publishing.
Dru can also change a page address. Specify the page and new path, then review the slug and any offered redirect option in page settings. Check existing links and test both the old and new addresses after publishing. Do not assume that asking Dru to change a URL also creates a redirect.
1. Access page settings
In your website editor, select the page in the canvas or use the page selector in the upper-left corner to find it.
Open page settings using the gear beside the page name.
2. Update the page title
In the Details section, edit the Title field. This title appears in search results and browser tabs.
3. Manage page slugs and 301 redirects
The page slug is the unique, URL-friendly part of your page's address (e.g., yourwebsite.com/your-page-slug). Changing a page's slug can impact your search engine ranking if old links are not properly redirected.
In the Details section of the page settings, locate the Slug field.
Enter a new, unique URL-friendly slug for your page. For example, you might change /services to /new-services.
If you change the slug, a checkbox will appear below it: Redirect /old-slug → /new-slug. Select this checkbox to automatically create a 301 redirect. This sends visitors using the old URL to the new URL and helps prevent broken links.
The homepage stays at the root of your domain. A redirect does not guarantee a particular search ranking. After publishing, test both addresses and review buttons and navigation that point to the page.
4. Configure SEO settings
Select the SEO section.
Customize these two key elements:
Open Graph image: Choose or upload an image to display when your page is shared on social media. Click Replace to choose or create a new image.
Meta Description: Add a short, engaging summary (between 110–160 characters) that encourages clicks in search results. You can write this yourself, or use the option to Use AI, to have this autogenerated.
Use a distinct description for each page and review AI-generated wording for accuracy.
5. Publish your changes
Click Publish to make your SEO updates live on your website.
Search engines and social platforms may take some time to refresh the title, description, and image they display. To help Google discover your pages and check their indexing status, follow Verify your website in Google Search Console.
Remove a page from the sitemap
The SEO panel includes Remove from sitemap. Use this when the page should not appear in your site's sitemap. It does not make the page private or guarantee that a search engine will remove an already indexed URL. To change who can access the whole site, use the visibility controls explained in Preview, save, publish, and manage visibility. Review search-engine removal options separately when needed.
